Job Purpose
Lead transport-demand related modeling, databases, and technical studies to support balanced, sustainable transport in Dubai, including inputs to tariff/exemption/review work in line with approved Transportation Policies.
Roles and Responsibilities Strategy- Support the implementation and articulation of the comprehensive system for regulating and managing transport demand in the Emirate of Dubai in line with approved RTA policies.
- Assist in applying transport-demand procedures that promote balance and integration in the transport system, including temporal and spatial trip redistribution.
- Monitor and document the impacts, strategic priorities, and implementation programs related to transport-demand policies that encourage sustainable and mass transport and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
- Contribute technical/modelled inputs to the governance of mass-transportation tariffs, passenger-transportation tariffs and fees (mass transport, taxis, limousines, smart rentals, flexible mobility) as per approved scopes.
- Contribute to the study and evaluation of policies and procedures related to exemptions from road and mass-transport fares within the approved framework.
- Develop, update, and operate the databases and tools needed to evaluate transport-demand policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current networks, demand patterns, and approved assumptions.
- Serve as the custodian of all model assumptions, datasets, and update cycles, ensuring their accuracy, integrity, and timely maintenance.
- Conduct strategic and detailed technical studies and modelling exercises to assess the effectiveness of transport-demand policies and to raise the efficiency of the roads and transport system in Dubai.
- Follow up on the implementation of transport-demand policies, procedures and programs approved by management and consolidate implementation status from concerned departments.
- Prepare technical observations on studies, legislations and plans related to transport-demand management policies received from external parties or other institutions, within the approved scope.
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Transport/Traffic/Civil Engineering, Urban/Transport Planning, or Applied Statistics.
- 9+ years in case of Master’s degree (11+ years in case of Bachelor’s degree).
