To ensure that offloading, put-away, picking and packing processes for inbound and outbound operations are performed efficiently and in a timely manner using assigned equipment so as to ensure customer satisfaction. In addition the incumbent must ensure that the assigned equipment under his care is maintained in good condition.
Responsibilities- Receive the invoice and packing list for inbound shipments and check that the items tally. Inform the Storekeeper on any damages, short or over shipments and discrepancies observed in received items.
- In case of damages, fill the Materials Discrepancy Note (MDN) or other forms as the case may be, file the same and highlight the case to the Storekeeper.
- Accurately segregate items, scan if necessary, and carry out put away in the proper locations so as to enable quick and effective retrieval.
- Operate the assigned equipment in a proper manner and ensure that no accidents/damages are caused due to negligence, the forklift is optimally utilised and regularly maintained.
- Fill the manual put away sheets and hand it over to the Storekeeper for final verification and system confirmations.
- Efficiently use RF scanners ensuring accurate and timely put away/pick up of goods.
- Accurately pick items from locations for outbound shipments and check that the items tally as per the pick list generated. Indicate all the details of items picked in the required format and if required, scan all items or re-check before loading.
- Carry out the packing as per specifications and paste necessary labels and stickers as instructed by the Storekeeper.
- Support the Storekeeper in tasks like stock checks, cycle counts, and others as may be assigned from time to time.
- Adhere to the company policies and procedures for all practices so that business is handled efficiently.
- Assess the equipment daily to highlight any trouble/complaint and resolve these complaints (eg: battery water level check, brake test, running problems) or report to the Storekeeper/Supervisor for immediate trouble shooting ensuring smooth operation of equipment.
- Analyse and plan space utilisation for put away to ensure minimum area and time for maximum capacity/cubic meters.
