Stores Assistant

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the maintenance of a clinic's storeroom, including stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control, and related duties.

• Order, receive, inspect, return, unload, shelve, pack, label, price, deliver, and maintain a perpetual inventory of forms, office supplies, and various types of equipment.
• Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient and order additional materials when necessary.
• Rotate stock and arrange for disposal of surpluses.
• Keep records to maintain inventory control, cost containment, and proper stock levels.
• Perform buying duties when required.
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issues.
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
• Check shipments upon arrival to ensure orders are filled correctly and goods meet specifications.
• Locate suppliers using catalogues and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to order.
• Proactively communicate with the originator of the request when products are delayed or not available, and provide alternatives for out‑of‑stock items.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Head of Department.

• High school diploma or equivalent educational background required; additional certifications in inventory management are a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within a retail or warehouse environment preferred.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage stock efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, with good physical stamina to perform manual tasks.
