How you make a difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and providing medical care to patients in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
- Health Services & PI and ARNPs, and ensuring the smooth flow of consultations and referrals between medical staff. This position also includes on-call responsibilities for the provision of medical care outside of regular business hours. The physician must ensure timely and accurate documentation of all assessments and treatment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts initial and ongoing physical assessments of patients, provides referrals as needed, and ensures complete and accurate documentation of assessments.
  • Provides oversight and clinical guidance to ARNPs and ensures proper patient care through ongoing monitoring and consultations with psychiatric staff.
  • Provides education on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) diagnoses to patients and their families.
  • Collaborates effectively with staff in other disciplines and adheres to special precautions and safety procedures.
  • Provides on-call coverage for after-hours care of patients and makes appropriate referrals for tests and consultations.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.

Experience

  • Two (2) years post residency clinical experience in an inpatient setting, psychiatric experience referred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed in the state of employment. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications. Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain DATA 2000 Waiver prior to employment.

Must be licensed as an MD or DO in the State of California. Must be Board Certified through the American Board of Medical Specialties. This is an onsite position with a focus on Addiction Medicine. 1 day per week, flexible schedule. Day shift.
