Position

BASIS Independent Dublin is seeking qualified candidates for a Drama Teacher starting Fall 2026. The school will open in September 2026, bringing a world‑class approach to education to a vibrant new community. Joining the founding team offers a unique opportunity to shape the culture, programs, and experiences that will inspire generations of students.

What We’re Looking For

Drama teachers build upon the foundations learned in elementary school by incorporating theater vocabulary, history, technology, stage design, and movement. Students learn how to tell stories with and without words, self‑expression through drama, and how to perform for an audience. Drama teachers collaborate with other Subject Expert Teachers to bring music and drama into history, technology, and other areas for enhanced learning.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Prepare subject‑specific lessons in Drama.
  • Provide instruction above grade level in an interactive learning environment, delivering exceptional results for all students.
  • Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is internationally competitive.
  • Collaborate with other BASIS Independent teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people passionate about education.
  • Tutor students in content‑specific knowledge and skills to elevate their academic and career success.
  • Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality.
Essential Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of and passion for Drama.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content.
  • Skill to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Open to feedback and continuous growth.
  • Creative instructional and classroom management strategies.
  • Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, flexible.
  • Strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” mindset.
Additional Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Bachelor’s degree in Drama or related field (education coursework or teaching certification is not required).
  • Preferred:
    Master’s or Ph.D. in Drama or related field; high GPA; excellent recommendations; experience with children; openness to innovative teaching.
  • Candidate must obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
