BASIS Independent Dublin – Latin Teacher (Fall 2026)
BASIS Independent Dublin is a campus of BASIS Independent Schools, a national network of PreK‑12 private secular schools committed to high academic standards, self‑reliance and accountability. The new campus will open September 2026 and the founding team seeks a passionate educator to shape the culture, programs and experiences that will inspire generations of students.
Position OverviewAs a Latin Teacher you will present the material in your own way while achieving clearly defined goals for student understanding. You will collaborate with other BASIS Independent teachers to form a community of smart, talented and interesting people dedicated to professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare subject‑specific lessons in Latin.
- Provide higher‑level instruction in an interactive learning environment, delivering exceptional results for all students.
- Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective, creative lessons and assessments to ensure internationally competitive education.
- Collaborate with other teachers to foster a professional, academic community.
- Tutor students to heighten academic and career success.
- Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement and personal responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of and passion for Latin.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content.
- Ability to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
- Open to feedback and continuous growth.
- Creative instructional and classroom management strategies.
- Cooperative, collaborative, supportive and flexible.
- Strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” mindset.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Latin or related field. Coursework or experience in education is not required, nor is certification. Candidates must obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
Preferred:
Master’s or Ph.D. and strong communication skills, a high GPA, excellent recommendations, and experience working with children.
