Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.

Snowflake is seeking an experienced technology transactions/commercial contracting leader to join our world‑class legal team, reporting to the Senior Director, Associate General Counsel – Technology Transactions and Alliances. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, collaborative, and pragmatic problem solver who excels at negotiating complex partnership agreements and leading key team initiatives, including driving improvement of templates, processes and cross‑functional workflows.

Top‑tier writing and analytical skills are required. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and advance practical solutions. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting environment. This is an in‑person role based in Menlo Park, CA or Dublin, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with Snowflake's Business Development, Partnerships, Sales, and Strategic Sourcing teams on commercial and technology transactions

  • Effectively lead, project‑manage, structure, negotiate and close agreements, such as agreements for SaaS, AI, resellers, cloud infrastructure, or strategic partnerships

  • Provide sound, practical advice and guidance on legal and business‑related issues to senior business leaders

  • Balance legal risks against real‑world business imperatives to provide pragmatic and market‑based solutions

  • Respond promptly to the demands of stakeholders and their management

  • Actively collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including legal, finance, tax, product, engineering, security, and compliance, to appropriately manage risk and build processes to foster compliance

  • Lead and manage a team of attorneys

  • Monitor overall deal workflow to identify bottlenecks and drive resolution

  • Lead the development and improvement of forms, policies, processes and playbooks to help streamline, simplify and automate our contracting processes

  • Keep abreast of the rapidly evolving legal landscape affecting our agreements

  • Work well in a fast‑paced, dynamic work environment

REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 9 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a top law firm and in‑house with SaaS or similar technology companies

  • Strong background in SaaS‑centric issues (e.g., data, privacy, security, and intellectual property)

  • Excellent drafting skills

  • Ability to think creatively and be solution‑oriented and to press forward in ambiguous situations with a “get it done” mindset

  • Experience working effectively with and driving execution of cross‑functional teams even when faced with significant obstacles

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to effectively use collaboration tools and techniques

  • Highly responsive and service‑oriented attitude

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, instilling urgency and focus to deliver high‑quality results

  • Demonstrated business judgment

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a focus on precision and clarity

  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to work with all levels across the company and the globe

  • Willingness and capacity to manage numerous deals, meet tight deadlines, and work extended hours when necessary to complete projects

  • Attitude that no project is too big or too small

  • Willingness to experiment with and employ AI tools in the workplace

  • JD from an accredited law school, membership in at least one state bar, and ability to practice in California
