How You Make a DifferenceThe Physician Assistant provides comprehensive medical care to inmates under the supervision of medical leadership. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating acute and emergency complaints, participating in administrative meetings, supporting cross‑coverage needs, and collaborating with physicians and mental health professionals to ensure clinical documentation aligns with protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver acute and emergency medical care in accordance with protocols
- Consult with physicians and manage patient transfers when clinically indicated
- Document all findings using the S.O.A.P. method and EMR systems
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in quality improvement efforts
- Provide cross‑coverage and support psychiatric stability assessments
- Completion of an accredited education program for PAs
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience
- Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
- Current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
Week 1:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday;
Week 2:
Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday
