Overview
Join our winning team at Sprouts Farmers Market as a Head Cashier. Lead by example, mentor a fast‑paced team, and deliver outstanding customer service in a friendly environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise a team of cashiers, ensuring excellent customer service through proactive support.
- Address potential customer assistance issues at the register.
- Assign store sweeps, maintain cash register supply levels, and keep restrooms and parking lots clean.
- Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
- Schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
- Assist in hiring, training new cashiers, and take appropriate disciplinary actions.
- At least 18 years of age; high school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
- Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude; role model for customers.
- Ability to operate front‑end equipment (register, calculator, scanner).
- Strong communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism.
- Capacity to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
- Physical requirement: lift/carry horizontally/vertically up to 30 lbs to a distance of 3 ft for up to 50 hours; move grocery carts up to 35 lbs to a distance of 4 ft for up to 50 hours.
- Strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, cash handling and mathematical skills.
The pay range for this position is $16.70 – $22.55 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
