As a primary responsibility, the family engagement coordinator will address the well-being of students and their families. The coordinator must serve as a multiple-service broker for the students and their families. Services should be coordinated through the development of partnerships with public and private agencies. Trusting relationships must be established with families to facilitate coordinated services. All events must be offered to the parents, families, or guardians of all students.
FamilyEngagement Coordinator Responsibilities
- Coordinate parent training sessions that include a minimum of two monthly sessions to support students academically, of which a minimum of one must be after hours.
- Conduct two parent portal trainings per year.
- Conduct two professional learning sessions per year to build staff capacity for family engagement.
- Attend and participate in all district level FEC meetings and submit all required documentation in a timely manner as requested by the Federal Programs Director.
- Organize and collect data needed for student attendance monitoring and make parent contact as directed by school administration.
- Organize and collect data needed for APTT required documentation and input required data for APTT meetings to GADOE.
- Serve as facilitators for the Big Green Reading Machine mobile literacy bus program.
- Serve as the school level coordinator of District Literacy activities at all after school and sporting events.
- Develop a strong rapport and facilitative relationship with school families.
- Provide family services during both traditional and nontraditional work hours.
- Act as a liaison and family advocate between school and community agencies.
- Conduct and document home visits to address needs as requested by referring school personnel.
- Develop a network of community resources to support school children and their families.
- Assist families in assessing their strengths and needs.
- Organize family assistance efforts around preventative strategies that promote the development of empowered families and assist families in accessing available community services.
- Provide input to and attend meetings of coordinating councils upon request.
- Participate in conferences with the instructional planning teams to assure coordinated provision of instructional and social services.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities directly related to the provision of family services as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED

190 day work schedule
Placement on the DCS FEC Salary Scale based on certification level and verified years of experience
