Job Summary and QualificationsThe Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, performs diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitors patients on mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing patient assessments and diagnostic procedures
- Administering respiratory therapies
- Assisting with artificial airway placement and managing mechanical ventilation
- Monitoring patient responses and intervening as needed
- Transporting ventilator-dependent patients
- Responding to emergencies and maintaining airway during resuscitation
Qualifications needed:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 60 months)
- PALS (must be obtained within 60 months)
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days)
- Associate Degree or Certificate
- RRT/RCP or LCRT certification
