Job Summary

The Supervisor, Telecom position for Field Operations, Georgia Southwest within the Field Operations East & National department will have overall responsibility for approximately (8) Telecom Technicians and (1) Telecom Analyst geographically dispersed throughout the southwest territory of GA. The field operations southwest territory of GA consists of the following border counties and all areas contained within the perimeter of these counties: (clockwise) Troup, Meriweather, Pike, Lamar, Monroe, Jasper, Putnam, Baldwin, Wilkinson, Laurens, Dodge, Wilcox, Ben Hill, Irwin, Berrien, Lanier, Echols, Lowndes, Brooks, Thomas, Grady, Decatur, Seminole, Early, Clay, Quitman, Stewart, Chattahoochee, Muscogee, and Harris.

The Supervisor provides leadership and influence through active participation in Field Operations activities and leverages business, technical, and consulting resources from across the organization (strategy, engineering, and operations) to ensure the timely delivery of effective business solutions. FO provides hands‑on installation, maintenance, break‑fix, and project support for Southern Company’s voice, data, and telecommunications transport networks while also assisting various infrastructure groups with initiatives as needed in support of a broad infrastructure asset catalog and diverse Southern Company customer base.

Education

Requirements & Preferences
  • Two‑year degree in a business or technology‑related field, or equivalent military training is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a four‑year degree or nearing completion of a four‑year degree program in a business or technology‑related field.
  • Candidates with a minimum of two years of formal people leadership experience within a business or technology related field will be considered in lieu of education requirements.
Experience Requirements & Preferences
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology‑related field is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have telecommunications, field operations, or similar experience.
