Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Maternity Cover (Mullingar, Co. Westmeath)

We're seeking a passionate and skilled Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to cover a maternity leave, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a busy and supportive practice in the heart of the Irish midlands.

This full-time, temporary position offers a diverse caseload, split approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animal.

• Small Animal: Engage in general first opinion practice, including routine surgeries (spays, castrations, lump removals, etc.), diagnostics, and emergency care.
• Large Animal: Conduct farm calls, with a focus on calving and sections. No TB testing required.

Salary: Up to 60,000 commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. OOH is shared on a rota basis: 1 night per week and 1 in 4 weekends.

The team consists of 4 full-time Vets, 2 part-time Vets, 4 Veterinary Nurses, and 3 support staff. They pride ourselves on our collaborative and supportive work environment, where every team member is valued.

• Registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) and eligible to work in Ireland.
• Competent in basic routine small animal surgeries (spays, castrations, lump removals, etc.).
• Competent in large animal calving and sections.
• All experience levels considered.
