Diesel Technician

Job Overview

Join us as a Diesel Technician at Peterbilt of Atlanta
. You will provide superb customer service by diagnosing, inspecting, removing parts and attachments, performing warranty repairs, completing preventative maintenance services, repairing lights and wiring, welding, cutting, and other repairs.

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting diesel engine and transmission issues.
• Conducting visual inspections and removing parts and attachments.
• Performing warranty repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Repairing lights and wiring, along with welding and cutting tasks.
• Applying mechanical and technical skills to resolve customer problems.

Reports to the Service Manager. 40‑hour workweek with eligibility for overtime. Successful applicants may qualify for a flat‑rate compensation plan and a monthly bonus incentive based on upsales.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of diesel truck service and computer diagnostics experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and proficiency with power and hand tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety information.
• Professional appearance and effective oral and written communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

Standing 6‑8 hours per shift, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and feeling. Use of hand and power tools. Lifting parts up to 70 pounds multiple times per shift. Operating hoist and test equipment. Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and hazardous materials.
