• Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and rootplaning, sealants, fluoride, oral cancerscreeningsand x-rays
• Educate patientsonthe importance of oral hygiene, as well as instructions and demonstrationsof effective oral hygiene methods
• Communicate with doctor where there are opportunities in patients for restorative and/or periodontal needs
• Obtain and review dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history and care slips) andensure health history is updated for all returning patients

• Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license
• X-Ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specify
• Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specify

This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
