Security Monitor - Coffman HS

Title: Security Monitor - Coffman HS
Reports to: Building Administrator
Department: Academics and Student Learning
Job Status: FLSA Overtime Eligible

Position Summary: Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment in the non‑classroom areas of the high school, parking lot, and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways.
  • Maintain the orderly flow of automobile traffic in the parking lot.
  • Issue tickets and collect fees related to parking.
  • Monitor restrooms throughout the day.
  • Enforce all school rules.
  • Keep unwanted visitors out of the building and off the grounds.
  • Report maintenance concerns to appropriate school personnel.
  • Ensure the safety of students.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Remain free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
  • Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
  • Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible, and intelligent human beings.
  • Understand the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
  • Ability to command respect and work with students in a positive manner.
  • Experience in security related work is desirable.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Terms of Employment

191 days (183 days; 8 paid holidays); 8 hours per day excluding lunch. Salary as provided by the Negotiated Agreement. Work year to be established by the Board.

Salary

$20.07/HR - $23.80/HR.
