Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires the successful candidate to report to a site location.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast‑paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. It involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and may include participation in an on‑call rotation.

All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair, candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
  • Some regional travel may be required

Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Working to meet SLA’s against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow.
  • Being first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Performing regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc).
  • Carrying out routine network, server hardware and OS related repairs.
  • Working with cross‑functional teams on a regular basis to complete routine work.
  • Adhering to security and safety best practices in the data center.
  • Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goals achievement.
  • Identifying and helping create documentation for use globally.
  • Identifying and helping create process improvements relevant to the data center environment.
  • Performing server upgrades, rebuilds, scheduled works as required.
  • Interacting with third party vendors & contractors.
  • Contributing to the development of other team members.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
