General Manager I – Manager In Training for Retail Furniture, Appliances, Bedding & Home Decor at Big Sandy Superstore.
Reports to:
Regional Manager.
- Work a minimum of a 48‑hour weekly retail schedule.
- Achieve personal sales goals.
- Effectively assist with managing the sales team and new hires.
- Provide training and set goals for the sales team.
- Create an extraordinary experience for guests.
- Provide support to the store’s Management Team whenever needed and be able to fulfill their role.
- Maintain great communication with the store’s Management Team regarding individual and department performance.
- Conduct morning and afternoon huddle meetings with an agenda designed to motivate, inform, and educate sales professionals and the management team.
- Focus on driving sales through all steps of the sales process.
- Coach a sales professional in a one‑on‑one setting to improve their sales process.
- Shadow sales professionals to ensure the sales process is followed.
- Recognize weaknesses during the actual sales interaction and coach them to improve.
- Debrief a sales professional immediately after a sales interaction in a way that acknowledges areas for improvement.
- Set individual goals for sales professionals based on store goals.
- Maintain constant communication with sales professionals regarding their goal progress.
- Have a passion for working with others and seeing individuals and the team succeed.
- Learn all roles and functions within the store and operations.
- Work with the Corporate HR Department to build a great team and maintain full staffing levels at the location.
- Some travel will be required.
- Learn to live in the numbers.
- High energy with an enthusiastic personality and a positive attitude toward the retail sales environment.
- Strong leader with a team‑first attitude, high commitment, and work ethic.
- Accountable individual who holds themselves and others accountable.
- Excellent multitasking, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Willingness to accept a promotion at any location in the assigned region.
- High school diploma or equivalent, combined with relevant education and experience.
- Preferred:
Previous experience in a customer‑satisfaction environment. - Preferred:
Previous retail management/supervisory experience.
