Job Description
Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities, including telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. This position ensures compliance with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods. Locating technicians will be dispatched to locate and verify for utility customers.
Technicians may work independently or in a team environment under the supervision of an assigned supervisor. The job requires focus, skill, and the use of machinery and tools.

Key Responsibilities- Locates underground facilities by using a transmitter and hooking up to a buried facility, pedestal, etc.
- Works in all types of terrain including construction zones, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas in all weather conditions.
- Interprets job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to route and perform duties efficiently.
- Performs locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as necessary to meet customer needs.
- Communicates and interacts with customers, co‑employees, and third parties in a professional manner.
- Maintains a damage‑free environment by communicating with management, contractors, and utility customers.
- Uses appropriate technology and tools for the job.
- Works with others in a supervised team environment when required.
- Company vehicle, laptop, and smartphone

- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
- State‑issued driver’s license
- Ability to problem‑solve and interpret technical prints
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day
- Excellent communication skills
- Vacuum truck experience (A+)
- Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)
- Pass a DOT drug test

10‑hour shift, Monday to Friday, on call, weekends as needed.

EarningsColumbus, OH: $80,000.00–$ (1 month ago).
Background and Drug TestingAll candidates must complete a background check and a DOT drug test. Company policy requires no violations within the last 5 years.
