American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and a PA or compact RN license in hand.
Details- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Patient ratios of 1:5-7 days and 1:6-8 nights, adjusted with LPN support
- 13-week assignment length
- Active RN license, PA or compact, required in hand
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line management preferred
- Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen administration preferred
- Experience with GI and GU/renal care including colostomy management and hemodialysis preferred
- Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring preferred
- One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
- Completion of lab work within 72 hours of signing contract required
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Must complete PA fingerprinting and Child Line registration within 48 hours of signing contract
- Fingerprinting must be completed in PA with very limited exceptions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Previous permanent or per diem employment at Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed and requires an 18-month break before returning as a traveler
