Job Description

Primary focus is on learning, planning, and scheduling roles and related processes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a basic understanding of planning and scheduling concepts as they relate to the business.
  • Develop an understanding of the customer requirements for each assigned area of responsibility.
  • Understand the effect of proper maintenance on equipment reliability.
  • Have a fair familiarity with MRO materials required to support areas of responsibility.
  • Interact with other functional areas on scheduling routine work and small projects.
  • Process routine daily work for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Understand resource planning and scheduling.
  • Create and manage weekly schedules for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Understand work priority as it relates to equipment criticality.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions that are new and unique to the business.
  • Develop work plans for small projects/sub-projects, including expense/capital estimates, in consultation with Engineering and Supervision.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling projects or events under general supervision.
  • Assess labor and material requirements before and after routine work.
  • Apply findings to future work of a similar nature.
  • Prepare and review data regarding equipment reliability, work performance, schedule compliance, material usage, and other metrics.
  • Check and verify accuracy of all documentation for requested work.
  • Follow up as required to correct any discrepancies.
  • Update existing documentation in the CMMS system under general supervision.
  • Provide updates to customers: information related to ongoing or scheduled work, status of activities, etc.
  • Coordinate and schedule work for assigned areas of responsibility under general supervision.
  • Interact routinely with vendors of materials.
  • Monitor and communicate performance and delivery relative to expectations of external suppliers to internal customers.
  • Present technical information or proposals to supervisor and others as appropriate.
  • Conduct required planning and scheduling meetings under general supervision; direction by supervisor is customary.
  • Work within guidelines established by best practice and the AAMP model.
  • Review and approve routine work for areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Interact regularly with others in developing and carrying out event-specific work plans.
  • Interact with technical work groups and business partners to positively impact project goals.
  • Maintain regular interaction with vendors and service providers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 2-year degree or minimum of 4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to a variety of assignments within a basic range of technical difficulty.
  • Developing understanding of methodologies associated with maintenance planning and scheduling.
