In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to contribute to the development of new products, enhance existing offerings, and address market needs while ensuring adherence to quality and cost objectives. Strong communication skills are crucial, as you will engage regularly with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including hands‑on activities, office work, and proficiency in MRP/ERP software, Solid Works, and specification development.
The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in incorporating new designs into Solid Works and the MRP/ERP system.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing on the realization of continuous improvement projects.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and QC to address current production and QC issues.
- Take direction from the Director of Product Development and Engineering Team to contribute to the development of new products and support existing offerings.
- Develop smart fluid conveyance solutions by applying innovative thinking to address customer problems.
- Provide feedback and support to the Sales and Marketing group through product testing, development, and qualification of both new and existing product lines.
- Create new part number setups, routings, work ticket templates, and other work details in the ERP system.
- Generate drawings in Solid Works for new designs and collaborate with suppliers to transfer drawings into a Pro Pulse design format.
- Work with Supply Management on the adoption of new suppliers, parts, availability, lead time, and integration into current production.
- Collaborate with production and extrusion personnel on new concepts and streamline current product designs.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, hose assembly, thermoplastic hose extrusion, and assembly.
- Experience in Plastic Injection Molding is a plus.
