Social Worker BSW Full-Time Dubuque Medical Center – role at Trinity Health
Position focuses on providing social work services to all age groups of patients and significant others to facilitate adjustment to illness and maximize benefit from health care services. Employees should be knowledgeable about tri-state community resources related to health needs during hospitalization.

Responsibilities- Provide services to patients, families or significant others, medical staff, community agencies (including but not limited to long-term care and home health), nursing unit personnel and directors.
- Adhere to Mercy One’s Model of Caring and Trinity Health's Code of Conduct; maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies; perform other duties consistent with the job purpose as directed.
- Document assessments and interventions timely and clearly; collaborate with hospital and public contacts in a cordial, helpful manner.
- Maintain current knowledge/skills in medical social service practice; provide care within the assigned unit per service descriptions.
- Baccalaureate in Social Work required;
Master’s in Social Work preferred. - Social Work experience in hospital setting preferred.
- Social Work licensure strongly preferred.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
- Work is performed primarily in a hospital setting during normal office hours; emergencies may occur.
- Physical: sit 6 hours, stand 1 hour, walk 1 hour in an 8-hour day; occasional bending and lifting up to 10 pounds; good visual, speech and hearing abilities.
- Baccalaureate in Social Work required;
Master’s in Social Work preferred. - Social Work experience in hospital setting preferred; licensure strongly preferred.
