Part time

Day Shift

• Saturday and Sunday
• 10 or 12 hour shifts
• 5/6 weekends

As a Sonographer at Mercy One, you will be under limited supervision, perform ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related ultrasound procedures as necessary on a scheduled or emergent basis and maintain related records; provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provide technical instruction to students and hospital staff. You will know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, Values, Actions, and Promise in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

• Perform quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors, as well as a knowledge of anatomical structures pertinent to the patient population of infants to geriatrics.
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
• Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
• Educate patients of exams being performed and obtain consent to perform procedures when necessary.

Must be registered with the ARDMS with two of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

• Maintain active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
