Employment Type: Part time

Shift: Evening Shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm; every other weekend and holiday rotation)

Location: Dubuque, IA

• Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards; empty trash and linen containers, dust surfaces, clean bathrooms, make beds, wipe all horizontal surfaces including over‑bed tables, and check own work.
• Maintain clean office/ancillary areas; assist with quality control audits.
• Differentiate between isolation types and perform special isolation cleaning according to established procedures.
• Maintain clean cart, equipment, and janitor closet/storage areas.
• Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, disposable items and other necessities.
• Report need for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures to appropriate personnel.

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred; some hospital experience desirable but not mandatory – on‑the‑job training provided.
• Familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Able to work with varying demands of patients, public, and other employees.
• Effective communication and harmonious teamwork with the health care team.
• Interacts with hospital staff, patients and public in a cordial, courteous, and helpful manner; exercises tact and diplomacy.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
