Forklift Shipping​/Receiving

The Forklift Operator/Warehouse position serves a key function in the transport of inventory and materials—both raw materials and finished goods—throughout the operations floor and warehouse areas at our high‑speed manufacturing plant in Dubuque, Iowa.

• Operate powered industrial trucks to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
• Move inventory within the warehouse to correct locations and stage orders for shipment.
• Understand daily production schedules and coordinate with management leads and co‑workers.
• Perform visual inspections of finished goods (cans and ends).
• Monitor schedules, equipment, and processes, reporting problems to supervision.
• Assist Material Movers (Line Drivers) or other forklift operators when necessary.
• Follow all SOPs and communicate with appropriate personnel about concerns or issues.
• Assist the Quality Team in locating pallets for sampling.
• Maintain equipment and areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping.
• Ensure all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, following safe work procedures and safety rules.
• Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned.

• Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Preferred: high‑speed packaging industry experience.
• Preferred: knowledge of warehousing procedures and SOPs.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Creativity and strategic thinking to solve problems.
• Employee relations skills with the ability to motivate people.
• Excellent time‑management, project‑management, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven record‑keeping and detail focus.
• Proven math and computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms; may need to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must work up to 12‑hour shifts, both day and evening.

• Work primarily in a plant environment; may need to move around different parts of the manufacturing floor and warehouse.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
• Exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
• Noise level frequently loud.
