RN-Intensive Care Unit

Overview

Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, for 72 hours per pay period (36 hours/week), holiday and every third weekend rotation

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients.

• Monitor and assess patient status using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Administer medications, treatments, and life-saving interventions as ordered.

• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other care team members.

• Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner.

• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.

• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-ICU care when appropriate.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)

License(s)/Certifiation(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within six (6) months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or within six (6) months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification or within 1 year of date of hire
