Description
— Join the Mercy One Family! We are looking to hire a RN. As a Registered Nurse at Mercy One, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence‑based practice, you will utilize critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome‑based care for a diverse patient population that includes post‑operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients.
You will supervise and coordinate care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members, while facilitating communication with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Adhering to Mercy One’s performance expectations and upholding the Mission, Vision, and Values will be a core part of your role.—
- Conduct assessments
- Identify patient problems and develop a plan of care
- Implement outcome/goal‑based plans of care
- Evaluate patient progress and revise plans as needed
- Communicate relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals
- Demonstrate clinical competence
- Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable
- Provide age‑appropriate care on the assigned unit
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Mercy One policies to ensure ethical and professional behavior
- PRN
- 12‑hour shifts
- Every third weekend
- Holiday rotation
- Schedules created every six weeks, with selection of preferred shifts encouraged
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Iowa
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within 3 months of hire
