Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift assignment on a Geropsych unit requiring 24 months of psych/behavioral health and charge experience.

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience required
• Experience with geriatric psychiatric patient population required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• De-escalation certification (MOAB, MAB, CPI, or SAMA) preferred, can be obtained during onboarding
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months preferred

• Behavioral health/geropsych unit with 9 beds
• Patient ratios up to 1:9, all geriatric psych/behavioral health patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, no 48-hour weeks
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend including holiday rotation
• On-call required possibly once per pay period as needed
• Charge nurse responsibilities required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Grey scrub color required
• Provide direct nursing care to geriatric psychiatric and behavioral health patients
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• First-time travelers accepted with required 24 months of psych/behavioral health experience
• Not open to local candidates within 90 miles of the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
