We're partnering with a well-established independent practice, around for over 35 years, with a 23-strong team and a diverse client base of 1,200-1,400 businesses. They're proud to remain independent in a market increasingly dominated by large corporate firms, offering personal service and real ownership over the work you do.
Why this role stands out:- Variety & Challenge: Manage a portfolio of clients across industries, handling full bookkeeping, from sales and purchase ledgers, reconciliations, journals, and VAT returns, to CIS and management information. No two days are the same.

- Flexibility That Works: Fully office-based role, flexible start between 8:00-9:30, 37.5-hour week, and every second Friday afternoon off.
- Bookkeepers from practice backgrounds not industry, someone who is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities across a diverse client base.

- Team players who are eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in an independent practice.
- Full bookkeeping for a portfolio of client businesses, including postings, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns, and understanding of CIS
- Liaising directly with clients and third parties, including HMRC, suppliers, and customers
- Producing management information to support senior accountants
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge, and supporting colleagues
