Full‑time permanent role at Grade 8 (£35,412 to £38,220), pay award due from April 2026. Part‑time hours will be considered.

We are looking to recruit a Principal Accountancy Assistant to join a busy and friendly team providing accountancy support to Children’s Services.

• Monitor income and expenditure budgets and provide financial advice and support to budget holders, particularly supporting SEND.
• Produce accurate numeric work and maintain financial records.
• Use PC‑based IT and spreadsheets, preferably Excel.
• Work flexibly in our offices in central Dudley or from home on a hybrid basis, supported by the Council’s flexitime scheme.

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including Maths and English.
• Completion of the AAT qualification, or final stages of completing it, or equivalent.
• Good verbal, numerical reasoning and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets.

• Contract at Grade 8 (£35,412 to £38,220).
