Purchase Ledger Clerk (Part-Time)
Dudley
25-30 hours per week
£13.50 - £14.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Temporary to Permanent
Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional who enjoys keeping things organised, building great supplier relationships, and making sure every detail is accurate?
We're working with a reputable client in Dudley who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team.
This is a varied role where you'll play a key part in keeping the purchase ledger running smoothly, working closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
What You'll Be Doing- Processing and recording supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Matching invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes (GRNs).
- Investigating and resolving invoice, pricing and quantity discrepancies.
- Processing supplier credit notes and reconciling supplier statements.
- Managing supplier accounts and responding to payment and invoice queries.
- Assisting with supplier payment runs and ensuring agreed payment terms are met.
- Working closely with Purchasing, Warehouse and Finance teams to resolve account issues.
- Supporting month-end processes, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Maintaining accurate electronic records and audit trails.
- Submitting monthly utility meter readings and providing general finance support when required.
- Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident problem-solver who enjoys investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be advantageous.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT processes is beneficial.
