About the Role:
We are supporting a well-established and growing business based in Halesowen in the recruitment of a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy and collaborative team. This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit someone organised, proactive, and keen to develop a broad understanding of purchasing operations.
As Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for placing orders with existing suppliers using the company's in-house order system, handling a wide range of purchasing queries, and providing support with shipping and export documentation at an operational level. The role offers excellent exposure across multiple areas of the business and would suit someone flexible and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Raise and process purchase orders using the in-house order system.
Manage day-to-day purchasing queries from internal departments and suppliers.
Liaise with existing suppliers to confirm orders, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve any issues.
Assist with shipping arrangements and support export documentation where required.
Maintain accurate supplier and order records.
Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence, supporting different areas of the department as needed.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a purchasing, buying, supply chain, or administrative role is desirable.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn different areas of the department.
IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
