We are looking for an efficient and well organised Ward Clerk to join Ward B2, Trauma ward.
Our successful candidate will have good administration skills, excellent customer service skills, the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy environment, work autonomously, and be able to prioritise and work well within a team, be able to communicate effective with members of the public both face-to-face and offer the phone.
Main duties of the jobTo ensure that patient's medical records are maintained in the correct manner from admission to discharge and also provide an efficient reception, telephone and clerical service to the ward.

Qualifications & Education- English and Maths Qualifications at one of the following academic levels/grades:
- o O Level
- Grade A to C o CSE Grade 1 only o GCSE Grade A to C o GCSE Grade 9 to 4 o Functional skills Level 4 - NVQ level 2/3 Business and Administration
- RSA 1 typing/word processing or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages database and patient record systems
- Willingness to attend training
- Demonstrate a knowledge of duties required for the post
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Previous experience of working within the NHS
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Confident telephone manner
- Ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary team
- Work without direct supervision
- Diplomatic
- Able to relate to the public calmly and in a professional manner
- Able to use own initiative
- Organisational skills
- Enjoy a varied workload
- Good organisational skills
- Able to deal with a steady flow of work and sudden episodes of heavy influx of work
- Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
- Able to provide safe, caring, and effective services
