- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, responding to enquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Book, amend, and cancel patient appointments using the clinical appointment system.
- Register new patients and update patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
- Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice procedures.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, correspondence, and clinical documents.
Receptionist roleis to be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties while providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, welcoming and directing patients, managing the appointment system efficiently, scheduling and booking appointments, processing patient information accurately, and providing assistance to patients in a professional, courteous, and confidential manner. The post holder will contribute to the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the service by delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support.
About usSt James's Medical Practice is a busy, purpose-built GP surgery located in Dudley. The practice currently operates across two practices, providing quality primary care services to a combined patient population of approximately 8,200 registered patients.
Job responsibilitiesA part time vacancy for receptionist, working 16-18 hours per week in a busy GP surgery.

PersonSpecification Experience
- Experience of working within public and customer care desirable
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
