Senior Business Support Officer – Children’s Services & Young People (Purchasing & Payments Team)
Full time – 37 hours a week – Term Time. Salary £22,791.66 – £24,292.80 per annum (Grade
5).
Are you highly organised, detail‑oriented and confident working with financial processes? We are seeking a Senior Business Support Officer to join our Children’s Services Business Support Team, providing essential purchasing and payment support to help services operate efficiently and effectively.
In this varied role you will:
- Process purchase orders, action payments, monitor expenditure and reconcile financial information.
- Maintain financial records, produce reports and statistical information, and support year‑end financial procedures.
- Provide senior administrative support, manage enquiries and contribute to continuous improvement of business support processes.
- Work closely with managers and colleagues across the service to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Autonomously prioritise workloads while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of processing financial transactions, purchasing or payment functions.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and customer‑service skills.
- Experience of using financial and information management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience is desirable.

Workplace Attendance:
Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rata) or onsite full time.
