We have an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge & Evidence Specialist to join our Library & Knowledge Services team at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, based at Bushey Fields Hospital.
The post holder will support the Head of Knowledge and Library Services in delivering the full range of library and information services to staff and students on placement and in line with the Trust's library strategy and national accreditation standards. The role involves frontline enquiry services, evidence searches to support clinical and non-clinical decision-making, and education and training delivery.
Job responsibilitiesBased primarily at Bushey Fields Hospital, the role may require cross-site working at other Trust locations. The post holder will:
- Provide literature searching support for clinical and non-clinical decision-making.
- Deliver information skills training and support to staff and learners.
- Promote effective use of library resources through inductions, training sessions and ongoing support.
- Support the development, maintenance and troubleshooting of the library’s digital offer, including intranet, SharePoint, online platforms and electronic resources.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional activities, creating materials and using social media to raise awareness of services.
- Operate document supply services, cataloguing and classification of stock, and broader library systems.
- Identify and utilize automation tools and AI-assisted technologies to improve efficiency.
- Support supervision of library assistants, volunteers or students.
- Assist in data collection, evaluation and reporting for service improvement.
- Collaborate on library branding, communications and digital presence across SharePoint, Trust intranet, MS Teams, social media and You Tube.
- Degree in Library and Information Management, Information Studies or a related discipline.
- Experience working in a healthcare or higher education library setting.
- Experience with evidence-based practice support and promotion.
