Legal Secretary – Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join a busy and established Dudley based solicitors on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is a varied, fast-paced role where you will provide secretarial and administrative support to the legal team, while also being an important first point of contact for clients.

Working within a criminal defence environment, you will need to be confident, professional and comfortable dealing with sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.

Duties will include:

Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries
Taking accurate messages and directing calls appropriately
Providing secretarial and administrative support to solicitors
Preparing and formatting correspondence and documentation
Managing emails, records and client files
Liaising with clients and external organisations
Maintaining accurate and confidential information
General administrative duties to support the smooth running of the office

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous legal secretarial or legal administrative experience – highly advantageous
Has strong general administrative experience within a professional environment
Is confident and computer literate
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
Is organised with good attention to detail
Is resilient and able to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging or sensitive conversations
Is comfortable working within a busy, fast-paced environment

Hours

Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm, with one hour unpaid lunch.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join an established legal practice, with the position initially offered on a temporary basis and the opportunity to become permanent for the right person.
