About the RoleAs an Operations Officer, you will manage construction projects and oversee the performance of trade colleagues and contractors, ensuring quality and compliance with health and safety legislation, building regulations, and best practice.
Responsibilities- Manage construction projects and oversee the performance of trade colleagues and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building regulations, and best practice standards.
- Undertake pre‑ and post‑inspections to guarantee quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
- Plan and schedule works, manage resources, and monitor progress using ICT systems and KPIs.
- Liaise with internal teams, elected members, and customers to maintain excellent communication and service delivery.
- Contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and health & safety plans for construction projects.
- BSc in a construction‑related discipline (or HNC with extensive site supervisory experience).
- IOSH Managing Safely in Construction (or equivalent).
- Supervising craft operatives and contractors in domestic repairs and improvements.
- Project planning and control of construction/refurbishment activities.
- Advising on technical issues and hazards in construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ICT skills and ability to use systems to manage performance and compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, methodical, and able to lead and mentor teams.
- Knowledge of Equality & Diversity and commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to provide a suitable vehicle for duties (business use insurance required).
- Subject to DBS checks and DVLA licence verification.
