We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civils Estimator.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs related to civil engineering works, including site preparation, earthworks, drainage, pavements, and infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure developments and work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Collaborate with design teams and project managers to develop accurate budgets and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for precise costing.
- Manage and control project budgets throughout the bidding process and project execution phases.
- Identify potential risks or cost overruns early on and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing without compromising quality.
- Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, assumptions, and cost adjustments for transparency and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Civil Estimator or similar role within the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control techniques to manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail when reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in all estimations.
