Position: Salaried General Practitioner
Location: Stourbridge

Weare seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried GP to join ourwell-established and growing general practice team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive healthcare for our diverse patient population.

Main duties of the job

Youwill be responsible for the clinical care of patients within a general practice setting, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide rangeof medical conditions. The role offers the opportunity to work within asupportive, multidisciplinary team and participate in service development,quality improvement, and training initiatives.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, andfollow-up of a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Conduct routine consultations, health checks, and preventative healthcare services, ensuring comprehensive care for individuals and families.
  • Provide care for patients with long-term conditions, including chronic disease management, and implement care plans in collaboration with patients andthe multidisciplinary team.
  • Prescribe medication, tests, and investigations according to guidelines and clinical judgment.
  • Undertake home visits where appropriate and necessary for patient care.
  • Develop and manage patient care plans, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Workwith patients to promote health, well-being, and prevention of illness through education and interventions.
  • Participate in the management of urgent, acute, and emergency cases as part of the general practice team.
  • Work collaboratively with practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver holistic care.
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced clinical staff, fostering apositive learning environment.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and clinical governance activities to ensure high standards of care.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure that all clinical activities comply with the practices policies,procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in audits, clinical reviews, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to relevant data protection and confidentiality guidelines.

T
raining and Professional Development

  • Keep upto date with the latest clinical guidelines, protocols, and advancementsin general practice.
  • Actively engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain GMCregistration
  • Participate in appraisals, assessments, and peer reviews to support professional growth.

Quality and Compliance

  • Participate in audits, reviews, and quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
  • Ensure that all clinical activities comply with relevant policies, procedures,and regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with data protection laws and practice protocols.

Infection Prevention & Control

In accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the postholder will actively participate in the prevention and control of infection within the capacity of their role. The Act requires the post holder to attend infection prevention and control training on induction and at regular updates and to take responsibility for the practical application of the training in the course of their work.

Infection prevention and control must be included in any personal development plan or appraisal.
