The post holder is expected to perform 8 PAs of direct clinical activities and 2 PAs of supporting professional activities. They may also be required to undertake other similar duties as part of this post to provide a quality service. These will be consistent with the level of responsibilities outlined above and are subject to change, as required by the needs of the service.

The post holder will participate in an on‑call rota on a 1 in 6 basis, paid at category B level with a 3% supplement. Clinical time is allocated in sessions (blocks of time) and consultants are expected to ensure optimum utilisation of the sessions allocated to them, with both time and productivity. The post holder will manage the flow of patients through the department and aim to achieve the 12‑hour wait target for specialist beds and help in reaching the ED 98% target by creating capacity to move patients from the ED.

Support will be available from all other specialties in the Trust to achieve these targets.

• Undertake an agreed outpatient template
• Efficiently utilise theatre sessions
• Participate in the supervision of a one‑stop Rapid Access Theatre list (done by a junior doctor) for diagnostic biopsies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Complete one Rapid Access/New and follow‑up clinic dedicated to skin oncology every week. These clinics are conducted in parallel with dermatology clinics, facilitating cross‑referrals and consultations.

The post holder will need to comply with the department’s policy for minimising the number of dropped clinics/theatre lists.
