Class Teacher – Maple Tree SEMH Resource Base

Job Summary: Full-time, permanent teaching position starting April 2026 at Hawbush Primary School, Brierley Hill, DY5 3NH
. Primary focus on social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs for SEND provision.
Salary: Main pay scale + SEN allowance.

  • Key Responsibilities: Deliver high‑quality SEND provision with emphasis on SEMH needs; design and lead engaging, inclusive classroom learning; support pupil development through personalised, evidence‑based practice.
  • Collaborate with SEND and pastoral colleagues to ensure a positive, supportive ethos across the school community.
  • Maintain accurate, current pupil assessment records in line with statutory reporting and SEND review procedures.
  • Actively contribute to professional development, CPD and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications &

    Experience:

    Qualified teacher with a minimum of 2 years teaching primary or early years experience, including working with SEND children.
  • Strong understanding of SEND, SEMH and pupil development; evidence of reflective practice and CPD commitment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Willingness to travel to local school sites and to support cross‑school collaboration when required.
