SEN Teaching Assistant – Creative & Outdoor Learning Focus
Pay Rate: £90.13 – £100.23 per day

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with complex social, emotional, and educational needs in an innovative and highly engaging educational provision based in Stourbridge.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role that goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. The successful candidate will support students through a unique curriculum focused on outdoor learning and practical skills – including activities such as woodwork, textiles, pottery, cooking, and care of animals and gardens. This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about supporting holistic child development.

Essential Requirements:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Access to own reliable transport (location not easily accessible by public transport)
Previous experience working with children in an educational, SEND, or care setting
Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a calm, solution-focused mindset
A strong interest in creative, hands-on, and outdoor education
Good literacy and numeracy (GCSE Maths and English or equivalent)
A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
Help learners engage with a therapeutic and practical curriculum
Promote emotional well-being, independence, and self-esteem
Support pupils’ development through creative tasks and outdoor learning
Establish supportive, positive relationships and act as a strong role model
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all learners
