We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our dedicated school administration team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality, working closely with students, families, and staff to ensure safeguarding and compliance with school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, track, and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality using BROMCOM (essential)
Follow up on student absences, including first-day calling and ongoing absence tracking
Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns in a professional and supportive manner
Produce attendance reports for senior leaders, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Support attendance panels, meetings, and referrals where required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records in line with statutory guidance
Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams to identify and support vulnerable pupils
Ensure compliance with school attendance policies and Department for Education requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven experience using BROMCOM for attendance management (essential)
Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
Strong understanding of attendance legislation and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High levels of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
Confidence working independently and as part of a wider school team
