Overview

Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist in Halesowen, SEN – Learning Support Assistant role focusing on Speech and Language Therapy. We have a SEN School looking for an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a Learning Support Assistant for the remainder of this academic year. You will support a small class, collaborating with teaching and support staff to deliver interventions to boost language acquisition.

You will work alongside qualified Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) delivering interventions to children with speech, language and communication needs in small groups and 1:1, gaining experience for a future career as a Speech and Language Therapist.

• Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
• Behaviour and pastoral support
• Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
• Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
• Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
• Ensure safeguarding of students
• Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

• Start date ASAP; trial days to ensure the role and school are right for you
• Excellent on-site training, support and CPD provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
• £88.94-£100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
• No previous experience required
• GCSE in English and Maths
• If you have a Psychology / Criminology / Social Science degree, it is an excellent use of your degree
• You MUST have right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship
• Right to work in the UK to apply
