Criminology Teacher

First For Education are working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school/college in the Stourbridge area to recruit an engaging and knowledgeable Criminology Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a popular and growing subject, inspiring students with real-world insight into crime, law and social justice.

This role is for 4 days a week with an immediate start.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and subject specialists with a passion for post-16 education.

QTS is essential.

• Deliver Criminology (typically Level 3 WJEC or equivalent) to KS5 students
• Plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons aligned to the specification
• Support students with controlled assessment units and exam preparation
• Monitor progress and provide targeted intervention where required
• Contribute to curriculum development within Social Sciences / Humanities
• Maintain high expectations for achievement and behaviour

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Criminology, Sociology, Law or a related subject at KS4/KS5
• Strong subject knowledge of the criminal justice system and criminological theories
• Experience supporting coursework and controlled assessments
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Industry experience within criminal justice, policing, youth justice or related fields would be advantageous but is not essential.
