Are you an experienced and passionate QTOD with experience in leadership?
We are seeking a skilled and inspirational Lead QTOD to lead and manage the Resource Provision for Deaf Children and Young People at Ashwood Park Primary School, part of Dudley’s Local Authority Enhanced Provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity to drive high-quality, inclusive practice, lead a team of specialist staff, and shape provision for primary‑aged pupils with severe to profound D/deafness within a nurturing mainstream setting.
As Lead, you will combine strategic leadership, specialist teaching, and team management, ensuring every child achieves their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and develop a team of QTOD and specialist support staff
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running and strategic development of the Resource Provision
- Champion inclusive practice across the school and model outstanding deaf education pedagogy
- Monitor pupil progress and provision impact, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement
- Ensure full curriculum access through tailored strategies focused on language development, listening skills, and communication
- Lead on communication approaches, including oral, SSE, and BSL, ensuring they are personalised to each child
- Work in a multi‑agency and partnership way.
- Oversee the effective use of hearing technologies and ensure staff are confident in their use
- Ensure EHCP outcomes are effectively planned for, delivered, and reviewed
- Be part of a forward‑thinking, inclusive Local Authority provision
- Take on a strategic leadership role with genuine influence across the school and wider service
- Work within a supportive, collaborative multi‑agency network
- Make a profound and lasting difference to the lives of D/deaf children and their families every day
