The Black Country Federation is recruiting an Attendance Officer with Safeguarding and Pastoral responsibilities to work across our partnership of schools.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily student attendance and take relevant actions to raise and highlight attendance levels across year groups.
  • Maintain friendly, supportive, and professional communication with pupils, parents, staff, stakeholders, and external agencies, handling complex queries and potential conflicts effectively.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and safeguarding/pastoral teams in both schools, providing consistent support to all pupils and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • This position is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Qualifications
  • Strong team player with a friendly, professional approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with pupils, parents, staff, stakeholders, and external agencies.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated personal resilience and an ability to model positive qualities for young people.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role.
