King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a specialist A level sixth form college. We provide a rigorous academic curriculum alongside a strong programme of wider enrichment that supports students to develop independence, confidence and ambition. Our students come from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds, and we are proud of the inclusive, purposeful community they and our staff create together.
This is a fixed-term opportunity to join King Edward VI College as a Library and Study Supervisor, supporting the effective operation of our library and study spaces. The role would suit an organised, approachable and proactive individual who is committed to creating an environment where students can study independently, develop positive habits and achieve their academic potential.
Working closely with the Head Librarian you will play a key role in maintaining a calm, purposeful and welcoming atmosphere across the library and wider study areas. You will provide visible supervision, support students in accessing study spaces and resources, promote positive behaviour, and help ensure that learning environments remain productive throughout the college day. The role also includes assisting with the organisation and circulation of library resources and supporting wider operational priorities as required.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in working with young people, and the ability to establish clear expectations whilst building positive relationships. You will be flexible, reliable and able to work collaboratively with colleagues to respond to changing demands, particularly during busy periods. Previous experience in a library, educational or customer-facing environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
As a successful and high-performing sixth form college, we are committed to providing an outstanding environment for both students and staff. This role offers the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to students' learning and development while working within a supportive and professional team. We would welcome applications from individuals who share our commitment to high standards, student success and excellent service.
